custom invitations: hudson loves chelsea

A few months ago, my friend Danielle (of Danfredo Photos + Films) had a crazy/brilliant idea for a wedding she wanted to photograph.  The happy couple?  Her adorable adopted dachshund dogs, Hudson and Chelsea.  That's right-- a dog wedding.

Danielle's idea quickly turned into a great collaboration among Philadelphia wedding vendor friends, and I loved creating a special invitation suite for Hudson and Chelsea's big day.  Claire Hudson (Pennys & Stamps) created a beautiful watercolor portrait of the couple to be combined with my writing.

The invitation itself was long and narrow, like Hudson and Chelsea.  The watercolor portrait from Pennys & Stamps is showcased on cream paper, with wedding details below in mint.

To further emphasize the shape of their invitations + add a little more fun to their guests' mailboxes, Hudson and Chelsea's wedding "tagline" was added to the back of their outer envelopes.

The response card was a clean and updated classic with mint ink on grey paper. I wrote guest names on each card in the same mint ink for a seamless look.  The reply envelope reversed the color scheme.

collaboration: midsummer's night

Isabel March recently hosted a photography workshop about capturing all of the small details of a wedding -- details like the cake, flowers, place settings, invitation suite.  Cassandra from tootsie & marie designed and created a sample invitation suite for the workshop.  To complete the suite, I addressed outer and response card envelopes in coordinating colors.  The outer envelope was addressed with a brush, and the response card envelope was addressed as I normally work - with my dip pen.

Post-workshop, Isabel graciously shared a few photos with us.  Thanks, Isabel and Cassandra!  Had fun collaborating with you both!

pop-up nuptials

I met Alisa Tongg recently - and had to [sheepishly] gush over how great she is at celebrating love.  Alisa is a Celebrant, and a storyteller, who helps people share and celebrate their love story on their wedding day.  I have seen footage of weddings she has officiated, and found myself both laughing and crying - without even knowing the couple - because their story was told so beautifully by Alisa.

When Alisa mentioned that she was putting together a pop-up nuptial night, I knew I was all in, and created a poster for the event.

hello, bird. - philadelphia calligraphy - for pop-up nuptials celebrating pa marriage equality hosted by alisa tongg, celebrant at hotel fuchere - milford, pa

Thank you, Alisa, for thinking of me.

Love is one of the most magical things one can experience, and being able to share your love with the world + make your person you share it with your spouse is one of the best feelings.  I love love, and to have just a tiny part in that special moment of others lives?  Incredible.
